One of the most inexpensive sports to pick up is running. We see people running at all times of the day. Regardless of the weather, running fanatics could still be seen everywhere. They never fail to keep up with their passion regardless of any negative situation they might encounter. The question is, why run? It’s a difficult question to answer. There is a primal connection with movement and the need for an unleashing of tension after a stressful day at the workplace. Running is regarded as an outlet to release our tension by many. It aids in clearing up our minds. However, it's not about avoiding and running away from reality. It's about finding that special moment, that special space within us to calm down and think about what we truly want to achieve. It's about moving out of our comfort zones and find out what's worthwhile for our efforts. It's about taking a break and returning more refreshed and clear headed. However, i must agree that it is no mean feat to keep the motivation level high and going strong consistently. Who has the energy to think of exercise after an entire day of endless meetings, meeting deadlines for projects and proposals and not to mention about the pressure you have to withstand from your loud-mouthed bosses? It takes much more than sheer determination to keep going and not give up. Continue reading "Overcome Your Mental Barriers And Start Running"

One of the most inexpensive sports I can think of and yet provides the necessary workout for your body, as well as your heart, is running. Encountering an increase in carbohydrates intake is a definite thing. However, savvy runners will know how to control the amount they consume and balance it with their workout so that they do not end up ruining their initial plans and end up putting on more weight in the process.
When carbohydrates is consumed into our body, it is converted into glycogen and transported to our muscles to be used as fuel. Runners, especially those who clock extensive mileage, will require greater amounts of carbohydrates to ensure their performance remains in tip top condition. If there is ever anything in the world that no one can take away from you till the very day when you lie motionless in the coffin, that will be your knowledge that you have gained throughout your entire life time. We often hear from people, especially the media promoting life long learning and rewarding those who consistently upgrade themselves with new skills and knowledge. These people do not stop learning even after their tertiary education has ended. They continue to excel and are ever hungry for more information. These people are very good role models whom we should learn from, and continuing to invest in knowledge to improve ourselves. Continue reading "The Best Investment You Will Ever Make Is Yourself"

“Arrrgghhh” there i go again, waking up in the middle of the night and feeling wide awake in my bed at 2 a.m. I keep tossing and turning in my bed for the next one hour feeling so alert and yet helpless about not being able to enter my dream world again. It's been almost a week ever since i returned from my major trip to London and Italy this year. I am still not adjusting back to my usual sleeping patterns. I have started working out at the gym, but my strength level has dropped a lot, i am not lifting the usual weights i used to be, my endurance level was not what it used to be when i attended my favorite cardio class. I even tried sleeping early and as far as possible, i cannot help but feel more exhausted than ever. Does this sound familiar to you? If the answer is yes, read on to find out more! The internet is truly amazing. With so many social networks popping up regularly and taking the virtual world by storm, you currently have social networks for many different categories branching into many tiny niches. Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, Multiply, Friendster, WAYN, Tripadvisor, Hi5, Tagged...etc you name it, the internet has it! There are too many to list here. Most people should not have problem with updating their network, that is if they only have one or a few social network accounts. However, the main problem comes when you have too many. Besides having so many passwords to remember, you need a lot of time and energy to update every single one of them and also to network with other people. Not to mention the confusion caused when logging in and updating every single detail.
In my previous post on "Do You Twitter?", i mentioned and introduced this handy tool for updating your status. Continue reading "Ping.Fm Your Ultimate Social Network Status Updater!"
